Application Support Analyst (Linux / SQL / Shell Scripting)

Our Partner, a global company operating in the Media sector requires two Application Support Analysts to join their team in West London.

Our clients bespoke applications are Java and C++ based, they run on Linux Red Hat servers with an Oracle Database on the back end. They require Application Support Analysts to work with the Development and Testing team to support the application in all stages of the Application Development lifecycle. 

Technical Skills: Application Support Analyst

• IT skill set which includes a working knowledge of Linux command line. (preferably Red Hat).
• Able to use UNIX utilities such as Sed, Awk etc. to interrogate the data set.
• Sound knowledge of BASH shell scripting and be able to manipulate/interrogate large volumes of data files.
• Adept at writing and using SQL queries to interrogate databases (Oracle preferable)
• Proactive approach to identify service improvements and automation.

Nice to Have: Application Support Analyst

• Python scripting
• Nagios for monitoring
• Excel to present report/data analysis.
